New Child Exploitation Risk Assessment Framework (CERAF)

Date: Wednesday, 09th Sep 2020 | Category: General

The Portsmouth Safeguarding Children Partnership (PSCP) has launched a new Child Exploitation Risk Assessment Framework (CERAF).  This toolkit will help to identify children who are at risk of or who are being exploited and will replace the tool kit that is currently being used. The CERAF has been developed by Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton (HIPS) and will ensure that one tool is being used across the four areas. This is with the aim of achieving better consistency and clarity across all four authorities.

The PSCP Training team will be delivering 2 separate training offers in order to support the children’s workforce when completing the CERAF tool.

HIPS: This training will be available for participants from Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton. There will be 2 virtual webinars in September offering 25 places per session per local authority. These workshops will be open to managers and practitioners in Children’s Social Care, Early Help and the Youth Offending Team.

PSCP will be providing a further 9 workshops to Portsmouth Children’s multi-agency work force in September and October.

There is an expectation that those who attend the training will have prior knowledge of exploitation and will cascade the information to their colleagues / team / agency. Materials will be made available to assist with this.
