We actively aim to get young people involved in the activities we provide. This section contains information on various events we have held and are planning to hold in the future. Some of these may allow you to apply to get involved, as long as there is space available. If you have any ideas to do with an event you would like to participate in, please contact us with your request here
On Friday the 31st of August, the CiCC went bowling. This was a great opportunity for looked after children to meet other young people under the care of the local authority.
Throughout August and September young people will have the chance to attend the sailing event that is run by CiCC. This event is full, which unfortunately means that there won’t be an application form made available at this time, however there will be other events that young people will be available to apply for.
On Thursday the 30th of August, care leavers from Portsmouth City Council and the Isle of Wight were joined by the Police Cadets on a paintballing trip. This gave the young people a chance to meet others from similar backgrounds but different areas, as well as allowing them to shoot each other. We hope there will be other opportunities to attend similar events in the near future.
Care Leavers’ Awards
In December we are holding the Care Leavers’ Awards. This is to celebrate the lives of those that have left foster care, as well as giving them a chance to meet others that have also been looked after by local authority previously. This will be the second Care Leavers’ Awards, after the awards held last December. As there is still much planning left to do, details such as venue and date are not currently available. We are looking to allow attendees to bring a guest this year.
