Learning from practice
The PSCP helps to facilitate learning from practice to:
- Establish whether there are lessons to be learned from cases, especially regarding the way in which local professionals and agencies work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children
- Identify clearly what those lessons are, how they will be acted on, and what is expected to change as a result
- Improve inter-agency working to better safeguard the children of Portsmouth
The PSCP and its committees engage in a wide range of activity to identify what is working well and what needs improving in local safeguarding arrangements and practice. The Learning & Improvement Framework enables the Partnership to make the links between the identification of what needs improving and the mechanisms available to achieve these improvements.
